Kai Niebert Kai Niebert is President of DNR – Deutscher Naturschutzring.
Prof. Dr. Kai Niebert researches and teaches as an expert for sustainability at the University of Zurich. His focus is on teaching various aspects of sustainability, especially with regard to climate change and planetary boundaries.
From June 2018 to January 2019, Kai Niebert was a member of the Commission for Growth, Structural Change and Employment of the German Federal Government.
In June 2019, Kai Niebert was appointed Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the German Environmental Foundation and is a member of the EU High Level Group on Financing Sustainability Transition. Kai Niebert has been committed to environmental protection, nature conservation and sustainability for more than 25 years. Since 2015 he has been President of the German League for Nature, Animal and Environment Protection (DNR).
