Laura Martín Murillo

Since June 2018, Laura  Martín  Murillo is the Adviser to the Ministry of Ecological Transition for green jobs and just transition.

Between 2016 and 2017 Laura was Director of the Renovables Foundation, a think tank created in 2010 to raise society’s awareness on the need to change our energy model through savings, efficiency, citizen participation and renewables as basic principles.

From 2003 to 2016, she was the Director of Sustainlabour, organization dedicated to work with trade unions around the world on the links between the labour and the environmental agenda. Sustainlabour supported the action from the International Trade Union Confederation and its affiliates on issues such as just transition, climate change, energy, sustainable management of chemicals, common goods protection, waste management and sustainable development through advising, training or join campaigning. She co-organized the First Trade Union Assembly on Labor and the Environment with UNEP, ILO and ICFTU (2006) and the Second Trade Union Assembly on Labor and the Environment with the ITUC (2012). She collaborated on the first discussion at the International Labor Conference of the International Labor Organization (ILO) on sustainable development and green jobs in 2013, especially contributing to the first international agreement between governments, employers and workers’ organizations on the subject.

Elaboration of contents, activities and programs on the intersection of environmental, social, labor and economic agendas, climate change, energy, sustainable management of chemicals, green economy. She is the main author and collaborator in an extensive list of publications on these topics.

Prior to 2013, she also worked in different organizations and institutions on gender, employment and environmental issues.
